Moving to a new house: Two years in Yellow Springs, Ohio
In September of 2017 I moved to Yellow Springs, Ohio. If you aren't familiar with Yellow Springs it would be worth looking into. It's a small village with a population of less than 5,000 residents. It's often referred to as "that hippie place."
I found a great apartment, very affordable, at the end of a street. There is a stream along the side at the edge of the property and farm land beyond the stream. Living there was a wonderful experience that brought me closer to nature. The deer, ducks and geese often made their way across the yard. The first spring that I was there a heron made frequent visits for about a week. Apparently there was a good supply of cray fish available, although I never saw one. I did see quite a few frogs though. Must have been quite a feast for Mr. Heron.
Moving to a new house is something that I really enjoy. The idea of taking a clean, fresh space and putting my stamp on it is exciting to me. This house was especially appealing . Just look at all those windows! The light was so amazing, and my plants really thrived there.
The house has a patio on the side off the dining area and a covered porch on the back of the house.
In another post you'll get to see how I decorated both those spaces. I'll also show pictures and a video of how I decorated the interior. I lived in this house for two years and loved every minute of it.
I'm only showing the common areas as the two bedrooms are small and not very interesting. And, a bathroom is just a bathroom. I'll have photos to post of my bedroom later. Below is the kitchen and dining area, with the double door leading out to the side patio. The back porch is right off the kitchen to the left of the kitchen counter.
Here is the covered back porch. It is quite a large space.
All my shade loving plants did well there.
Check out future posts for those pictures.
This was the beginning of a beautiful adventure.
